Okay for the price, but not very sturdy for severe use.
The price on these is great, but you get what you pay for. These came with guitar amp kits I bought. The clips that hold the unit in already broke. This fits the holes in the amp chassis, but the plastic clips broke when I tried to relocate it to the other hole. For the price, I cannot complain too much. I prefer IEC inlets with RFI filters and metal clips on my builds, but those will NOT fit the kit chassis I bought. I WILL buy extras of these and hope these hold up better. I know that they are the same exact dimensions, ratings, and style of what came with my kit chassis. I did NOT buy the whole amp kit, as I like to upgrade to better components. It is still worth the money MPJA charges for it, and it will hold up for a while. If you plan on plugging in and yanking your IDEC cord out every night, maybe plan on spending 5-10-20x more for a better inlet. For this price I do not expect specification grade or industrial grade products. With a guitar amp, some guys will set up and tear down 2 x a day or more. For professional use, I would recommend going with an RFI filter IEC inlet with metal clips. It may not fit the same hole size this does though. You may have to enlarge the hole. The way this amp is set up, I am going to use this and use an RFI filter inside the amp, and reinforce this with some epoxy. For the price, you still cant go wrong!
